I saw parts of this film many years ago, was frightened by the shadowy hooded figure (representing Mozart’s father) and didn’t really get into it. Wasn’t ready for it. I just watched this recently and saw why and how it’s an amazing film.
Things I took from this film:
- I liked the playfulness in this film (especially between Mozart and his wife) and the surprising lesson on the importance of laughter.
- The massive in-depth indulgent appreciation of classical music.
- How obsessive (or any) piety brings no solutions and just distorts the mind.
- “Boastful, lustful, smutty, infantile boy” HAAH!
- Salieri shouldn’t be looking at mozart’s success as a defeat!.
- I realized mozart is just a simple person, composing with a family, getting by, but a genius.
- His wife is a great bodyguard haha!
